 Technical Consulting

During the recent years the market of online services was growing rapidly. Nearly every day new abstraction layers and opportunities for product and service innovations were promoted. The rising curve of complexity resulted in the fact that the selection of the matching technology was coherently determining the project success.

NOVOSEC offers a wide range of economical and technical know how. Through the intense collaboration of our consultants with our development team we provide innovative ideas as well as the necessary expertise to guarantee successful projects.

Analysis

Requirements Analysis

Within the scope of the requirements analysis the relevant technical questions are gathered. Together with the involved departments the demands on the application in development are defined and documented in a requirements catalogue. A further main focus is the design of the customer interface, as the success of an application substantially depends on its ease of use.

Risk Analysis / Threat Analysis

The risk analysis detects and evaluates the weaknesses of a system and reveals possible error sources. Further on a threat analysis identifies potential targets and - in case of a successful attack - resulting damages. After that the potential attack paths and methods are investigated regarding their practicability and relevance in order to develop efficient counter measures.

Conception

Requirements Specification

Based on the requirements analysis technical aspects regarding the system in development are described. Additionally, organisational interfaces and processes to internal branches and external partners are modelled. The requirements specification represents the basis for the technical concept.

Technical Concept

The design model for the technical realisation is described in a technical concept. This concept also includes the technical realisation of the single functionalities, the structure of the class hierarchy and the detailed description of interfaces including the front end presentation.

Infrastructure

In parallel to the work on the application concept, the future target infrastructure is planned and organised. The requirements of the technical concept are realised based on estimated user numbers resulting in future-proof infrastructures (hard-/software equipment, connectivity, data processing centre, etc.). Within the single, functionally interrelated domains, the optimal infrastructure components and their dimensioning are to be selected.

System Selection

Request for proposal

In case a RFP is necessary to realise a project this will be based on the requirements specification and the technical concept. It contains a substantial catalogue of requirements as well as the formulation of the request conditions and a detailed capabilities list.

System Validation

Upon receipt the proposals are reviewed and evaluated together with the customer. In order to do this decision criteria are defined and prioritised. The resulting consequences of the single proposals are named. On demand of the customer a concrete system will be recommended, thus being part of the gross planning of the realisation.

Project Attendance

Organisation and Coordination

The project organisation includes the coordination of internal and external service providers and suppliers. Besides the technical coordination a central contact point for the customer can be established. Additional assignments are the organisation of the project team and the central steering of the project (project management).

Documentation and Review

Successful projects presuppose a consistent documentation of the single project phases and results. In the scope of obtaining milestones, further reviews of technical oriented documents such as use cases, requirement specification, programming standards must be performed to assure quality.

Test Support

Simultaneously to the development phase, extensive tests of the components and the new technology must be carried out. Following the test specification the single components must be tested on both the client and server side. Interoperability tests with external applications are part of the test phase as well.

Training

Before piloting and introducing the new services, there is a need of various user trainings within the company. The training data and information are generated according to the audience and their previous knowledge. The training material also contains practical examples. Furthermore seminars and workshops for special demands (e.g. hotline) will be held.

Pilot Support / Roll-out Planning

For large projects the users are attended and supported during the pilot phase. Insights resulting from this will flow into the roll out planning and the launch in order to facilitate the smooth introduction of the service.

NOVOSEC's highly qualified consultants have long-time experience in building up online services. The portfolio ranges from analysis via conception and system selection to project attendance. On demand we issue a corresponding documentation for later realisation as well. Furthermore our consultants have extensive expertise in the international roll out of new applications (e.g. London, New York, Singapore).
